The 3 ingredient DIY Turmeric and Besan face mask

This 30-minute face pack will leave your skin super glowy and supple.

 Tighten with Turmeric

The anti-inflammatory qualities of  turmeric tightens pores and calms down the skin while leaving a radiant finish. Turmeric is a perfect ingredient to achieve this in combination with gram flour as it has skin brightening properties. It is also antimicrobial in nature and can benefit people with acne-prone skin. The vitamin C in lemon is also a natural brightening agent.

More than a gram of wisdom

Gram flour also called ‘besan’, is known to fight numerous skin problems, including blemishes, pimples, dark skin, and dull and lifeless skin. Gram flour has alkalizing properties and was traditionally used as a cleanser to maintain the PH levels of the skin. It’s an ancient exfoliant that is known to safely remove dirt, excess oil, and toxins from deep within the skin without drying out the skin. Lastly, it regulates the moisture and keeps the skin supple.

Here's how you can mix both ingredients together along with Gram Flour to make an effective DIY mask.

What you’ll need –

 1/2 lemon

 2 tsp gram flour (besan)

 A healthy pinch of turmeric

Directions –

All you have to do is mix the ingredients together, add water or rose water as an optional mixing medium. Whisk gently to make a sticky paste and apply it to your face when it reaches the desired consistency. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes and simply wash off and glow.

Try it two to three times a week to see your acne subside and new revitalized skin emerge.

Time-honored honey and lemon mask

Aha! Lemon

For starters, lemon contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), which helps to remove dead skin cells. Due to its high pH levels, lemon can decrease oil on the skin and reduce inflammation. Lemon contains acids that have the ability to naturally lighten the skin, including age spots and acne scars.

 Honey, Honey!

Honey is one of God's healing elixirs with endless benefits. It’s full of anti-bacterial properties and acts as a natural antibiotic agent that fights free radical damage.  This powerful duo of lemon and honey, when used correctly, will hydrate skin, clear acne, and gently cleanse. When applied to the skin, honey has been shown to reduce the activity of inflammatory compounds.

Many young teens have tried this mask in conjunction with more aggressive acne treatments and medication. This mask is famous for instantly soothing bothersome skin irritation too.  Over a period it dries out pimples while reducing redness and pigmentation. So to our fellow Soorateens, we suggest that you apply this mask a few times a week to brighten your skin, reduce dryness, and horrible flaking that comes part and parcel with your other acne treatment programs. This mask should also help reduce the appearance of scarring.

What you’ll need –

2 tbsp lemon juice

1tbsp Honey

 Directions:

Mix Lemon juice and honey together and apply over the face and neck. Avoid the area near your eyes. Wash it after 15 minutes. The honey will fight free radical damage to the skin and the lemon will add a shine to your skin. Be careful to not overuse this mask as it can dehydrate your skin too.
