GETTING LIP READY FOR EID

GETTING LIP READY FOR EID

By Mehak Munaf.

Eid is on the horizon and your look is exciting and making you tense all at once even in quarantine, and if you are a lipstick lover the way we are, then prep your lips a bit in advance to really make that difference. When you do a bold new lip color, your lips tend to make quite a statement for themselves. Most of the time we tend to neglect our lips. Healthy lips are a sign of a healthy person and no matter how much lipstick you apply, trust us the lack of care will show. And let’s face it, chapped lips are a big no-no.
Because the skin on our lips is much thinner than any other part on the body, it is more prone to cracking and chapping. So it’s kind of important to practice good care for your lips to achieve soft lips that not only look good but work well with your lipstick.
Here are four simple lip care tips that you need in your life for a perfect pout.

1.  Start by exfoliating:

Exfoliating discards dead skin cells and dry skin, and speeds up the process of skin renewal. It keeps your lips healthy and free from impurities. You can easily incorporate exfoliation in your beauty regimen with sugar and honey by scrubbing it as a paste on the lips to remove the dry flakes away and infuse new life.

2.  Moisturizing is essential:

Since lips have a thinner layer of skin as compared to the rest of your body, they tend to lose moisture more easily so always follow your exfoliation with moisturizer to keep them hydrated. Coconut oil works great as it provides lip necessary hydration and casts a protective layer on your lips. Virgin Coconut oil can also be used to penetrate deep into the lips and to speed up the natural process of renewal.

3.  Keep Lip balm Handy:

Lip balm is pretty easy to carry on the go and can help prevent dry, chapped lips.
Lip balms hydrate your lips, making them look supple. Opt for one that has SPF, since it will also protect your lips from the harmful UV rays of the sun.
So before you head out, make sure to carry lip balm along with you. Just like sunscreen, keep on re-applying lip balm at regular intervals of time.
Maybelline baby lips lip balm has vitamin E that helps hydrate and glide on smoothly giving you the perfect pout that you ever wanted.

4.  Licking lips is a No No.

If you’re used to licking your lips a lot, when you are nervous or even otherwise, we have some bad news for you!

While providing quick relief, it does more damage than good. It may not seem as serious a problem, but it can cause your lips to become really dry, trapping you in a vicious cycle. So watch yourself the next time you get ready to lick.
